1971 Rafael Tufiño Serigraph for Puerto Rican Music Festival

By renowned Puerto Rican artist Rafael Tufiño, this serigraph is for a 1971 festival of Puerto Rican music put on by the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, a government agency that encourage the study, preservation, promotion, enrichment, and diffusion of the cultural values of Puerto Rico. Centered around an abstract depiction of a bird, this print has brightened greens, purples, red, blue and yellow.

Rafael Tufiño was known as the "Painter of the People". His work is found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the U.S. Library of Congress, the Galería Nacional in Puerto Rico, and the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico.

Signed in pencil. From the estate of a New Jersey collector with an extensive collection of Puerto Rican serigraphs from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.
